We strive to keep brides up to date on the latest and greatest bridal trends, and that includes naming the top bridal designers of the year. This year, we’ve got our eyes on several—from world-renowned wedding designers refreshing their collections to newcomers trying to make a name for themselves. Here’s a look at the hottest designers to watch in 2022.
Amsale
Although Amsale Abbera has passed, her legacy lives on through her timeless yet modern brand. Current designer Michael Cho stayed true to Amsale’s attention to detail for the fall 2022 collection, and brides will be pleased. Cho found inspiration outdoors: forest streams, blooming florals, and ribbed mushroom caps. The result is stunning pleated tulle, floral embroidery, and flowing skirts and trains. The collection is simply romantic and airy.
Andrew Kwon
Although he’s fairly new to the bridal world, designer Andrew Kwon is already making headlines. After working under bridal goddesses like Vera Wang and Marchesa, Kwon launched his eponymous label in 2020. This year, he launched his second bridal collection titled “Dreamer”, which transforms fantasy into reality through his designs. The variety is amazing—from dramatic, colorful ball gowns to sleek and structured minimalism. Brides will love the options!
Eisen Stein
What’s better than one creative mind? TWO creative minds. Designers Yael Eisenberg and Heli Kalkstein have been wowing brides with their sexy, red carpet-esque gowns for the last decade.
For 2022, expect feminine silhouettes and romantic details to take center stage along with long, dramatic trains. We’re in awe with the latest collection and can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the year.
If you Google “bridal trends for 2022”, you’ll see Halfpenny London gowns in almost every article. London-based designer Kate Halfpenny debuted her “3” collection this year—bridging the old and new together for a stunning mix of styles. The designer explored new ways of constructing the fabrics and played with several detachable pieces, allowing each bride to personalize her look.
Houghton
For the bride looking to push the boundaries, a Houghton gown is the way to go. Modern, edgy, and one-of-a-kind, this NYC-based brand is ready to make a statement down the aisle. Designer Katharine Polk merged two of her labels together for this cutting-edge bridal collection and she’s just getting started! Bonus: the brand values size-inclusivity, so every style is available in sizes 00-30.
Ines di Santo
Bold and brilliant are just a few words to describe Ines di Santo wedding gowns. Her luxe couture gowns have wowed the bridal world for more than 30 years, but her 2022 collections are very special to her. Di Santo says she was inspired by family memories and remembers the joy and happiness she’s experienced with family over the years. That sentiment translated to feminine silhouettes and super-romantic details with modern flair.
Kaviar Gauche
Ruffles and florals are big trends for 2022, and very fitting with Kaviar Gauche’s latest bridal couture collection “In Full Bloom”. The Berlin-based brand, made with the modern bride in mind, focuses on design, materials, and exquisite fit. This year, the designer duo created a variety of gowns and pantsuits with a tribute to each woman’s unique femininity. We think they totally nailed it.
Lihi Hod
Dreamy silhouettes and luxurious textures take center stage in designer Lihi Hod’s latest collections. Brides can expect timeless, boho-chic designs that embody youth and natural beauty. The fabrics are light and airy, allowing the bride to move effortlessly throughout her wedding day.
Markarian
Another newbie to the bridal industry is Alexandra O’Neill’s brand Markarian. The NY-based brand has been best described as “celestial romanticism” and is really ramping up this year. Brides will love the decadent fabrics, feminine silhouettes, and elegant touches. The Fall 2022 collection in particular boasts fitted bodices mixed with party-ready flair.
Rivini
One of our favorite designers on this list is Canadian brand Rivini. Designer Rita Vinieris really plays into the bride’s femininity with every design, and her 2022 collections are no exception. The designer bridges grand luxury with elegant simplicity through lush fabrics, textures, and 3D accents.
Sareh Nouri
If fairytale princess is your bridal goal, Sareh Nouri is your girl. We love the modern yet whimsical designs full of imported French lace and Italian silk. Each gown embodies timeless romance with beautiful details like illusion lace and giant bows that are totally swoon worthy. We can’t wait to see each of these designers shine throughout the year. You can even shop some of them right here, right now!
