Real Wedding | Sarah + Jordan

Beyond charming, this elegant seaside wedding is simply a dream come true. Held at a gorgeous Nantucket golf club, Sarah was positively radiant as she walked down the aisle on the arms of her parents. After exchanging vows in a heartfelt ceremony, Sarah and Jordan celebrated with dinner, dancing and good cheer amongst friends. Stylish Sarah, a rock violinist by trade, even performed at her own reception…how cool is that?!

The ceremony

Our ceremony took place under a beautiful tent right on the course at Sankaty Golf Club on Nantucket. The views were gorgeous with ocean views to the left and a beautiful image of Sankaty Light House beyond our chupah. We said our own vows and I walked down the aisle to a rendition of one of my brother’s songs (he is a singer songwriter in New York City).

The reception

Our reception was held inside the Club. We chose a nautical chic theme with navy blue and blush pink as our colors. We really wanted to capture the spirit of Nantucket. Our flowers were simple but elegant, allowing the natural beauty of our venue to shine. Guests were greeted with an authentic Nantucket raw bar with oysters being shucked by the minute. We danced the night away, and I even preformed at my own wedding! (I’m a Rock violinist in New York City)

Sarah’s dress search

Originally when buying my dress I was truly torn. The theme of my wedding called for a more simple and vintage gown like many of the Monique Lhuillier styles, however my own personal style was a bit more fun and dramatic. After trying on a bazillion Monique gowns I didn’t know what to do. They were all gorgeous, but I didn’t get that feeling of “this is my dress”.

However, earlier in the year I had played a show at the Vera Wang boutique in New York for fashion night out and I remembered being mesmerized being surrounded by all of her beautiful gowns. I quickly made an appointment and an hour in knew that the Gemma dress was meant for me! It’s balletic and fantasy like organza with its long train captured exactly the kind of bride I wanted to be.

Why Sarah decided to sell her wedding dress

I decided to sell because I knew it would forever sit in my closet, when somebody else could really enjoy it! It is a dress that not everybody can afford right off the rack, and I believe every bride should wear the dress of her dreams. I certainly did! 🙂
