We love weddings that combine the glamour of a black-tie affair with impeccable vintage style, just like Marina and Mitchell’s wedding featured today. A blush pink and cream palette complemented the luxurious ballroom in a mansion setting wonderfully, giving the wedding and reception a contemporary twist. The photos of the bride twirling in her Vera Wang Katherine gown are just so full of joy.
Marina + Mitchell | September 6, 2014 | Glen Cove, New York | Dress Listing: Vera Wang, Katherine
We got married at a historic Gold Coast mansion straight out of the Great Gatsby era. This home was built over 100 years ago and sits on 55 acres. One of the most beautiful wedding locations one could think of. The decor was intimate pure and simple, candlelit with rose petals everywhere. We were married under a gorgeous chuppah.
The Reception
The reception was held in a grand ballroom featuring music from a 12-piece band. Candles were everywhere, with beautiful ivory and blush centerpieces. We danced along with our guests all night long!
Marina’s Dress Search
I tried on just 10 gowns which is not what I expected. I love fashion and I thought I would go through hundreds of gowns! I chose Vera Wang‘s Katherine because I just felt different in it, it was a feeling that came over me. It was the one.

Why Marina Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
It gave me so much joy that I hope to pass that along to someone else that may not be able to spend the full amount. It’s a bit tough, but I have beautiful pictures and video to look back on.
