Mallory and Adam chose Adam’s parent’s backyard in Ontario to get married at their intimate, family-filled wedding. These two ski bums elected to go for a woodsy, wilderness inspired wedding with rustic touches and a lot of fun ski-themed ones, too. Mallory was dressed in a tulle Vera Wang Josephine gown, opting for a halter neck. It was not her first choice thinking the style would not look beautiful on her, but it ended up being a stunning look.

The Ceremony
We were married in the forest at Adam’s parents’ place in Ontario. Since we live in B.C. and were planning a wedding in only seven months (Adam didn’t want to wait over a year and a half to have an Ontario summer wedding for 2015), we pushed it as far in the summer as possible. Our parents worked long hours, clearing a spot in the over grown forest for us to get married with a beautiful corn field poking through the backdrop of trees. Our ceremony was under the trees, with a warm summer’s wind blowing down the aisle we cleared. In front of close family and friends we shared our own vows.
The Reception
The reception was in the field surrounded by the forrest and Adam’s mom’s beautiful sunflower gardens. My mom put together all the decoration, or mason jars, tea lights, rustic logs, roses and baby’s breath flowers. We started of the speeches by sabering off the top of a Champagne bottle with an alpine ski (we are avid skiers) and doing shot ski shots with our wedding party, family and guests.
Instead of a cake, we had 400 cupcakes that my Auntie Anne made! My dad had made this beautiful cupcake three-tiered cupcake tray out of logs from the forest. There were six different flavours in regular and gluten-free floor. We also had a dessert table that my mom and grandma baked for: mini cheesecakes, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, pies, brownies…and so much more!
Mallory’s Dress Search
I spent two days trying on dresses while my sister was visiting from Ontario. I said I would try anything on except a halter. In the end my sister begged me to try on a halter because of the amazing back it had…and I fell in love with it! It was everything I wanted, a cool back and poufy tulle bottom!
How Mallory Felt in Her Wedding Dress
As my flower girl described: Beautiful fairy princess!
Why Mallory Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I decided to sell my dress because I had so many people saying they wanted to find something like it. It was a hard decision, but if I can help someone else feel beautiful on their wedding day, then it’s worth it!
