Jacqueline Weppner’s Favorite Wedding Dresses

I (obviously) adore wedding dresses and could talk and dream about them all day.  And, of course, I have my absolute favorite gowns – the ones I would seriously consider if I were re-planning my wedding.  My obsessions got me wondering what gowns my favorite wedding bloggers were fascinated with.

If you’re serious about wedding day style, then there’s a good chance you’ve spent some time perusing Jacqueline Weppner’s super chic blog, Merci New York.  As an event and wedding stylist, Jacqueline emanates exceptional style – which is why I was especially excited to find out her favorite wedding dresses.

We ask her to name the gown she feels is most iconic.  And her favorite wedding dress today. Here are her picks.

The Most Iconic Wedding Gown of All Time:

“To me, it’s absolutely Gwen Stefani. While most editors would likely turn to Grace Kelly or Jacqueline Kennedy, I think Gwen Stefani’s ombre pink gown was well beyond its time. Worn in 2002, the one-of-a-kind Christian Dior gown by John Galliano showed brides that it was ok to break the rules – to wear color! – and really let your personality shine at your wedding.  In fact, the gown is currently on permanent display at the Victoria and Albert Design Museum in London, hopefully inspiring countless brides-to-be.”

Her Favorite Current Wedding Dress:

“My favorite current wedding dress is “Candy” from Monique Lhuillier‘s Spring 2012 collection.  Just like Gwen’s confectionery gown, when I saw the “Candy” gown at Monique Lhuillier’s press preview, it secretly had me wishing I stuck with a blush gown for my own wedding {Mara, the lovely owner of Kleinfeld, graciously switched me to an ivory Monique Lhuillier when I got cold feet}. This blush embroidered illusion tulle gown on “Candy” just embodies pretty, and as Monique mentioned during the presentation, the color suits almost any skin tone. Totally jaw dropping!”
