We love sharing beautiful inspiration with you. We also love sharing practical information about wedding topics to help make your day easier! The best is when a gorgeous shoot is accompanied by great info – such as this beautiful shoot from Bella Belle Shoes. We asked Erina and Veronyca from Bella Belle to share some trend info and wedding shoe tips with us:
How has the bridal shoe trend changed over the years?
Bridal shoe choices have changed drastically from the past. No more dye-to-match your bridal dress options. Today’s bride is lucky to be able to choose fashion forward footwear inspired by the latest trends. Stylish and sophisticated brides are now yearning for fresher options. Shoes no longer need to match your dress – they can be nude, black, ivory, gold, or any color you dream of wearing! With these changes, your shoes become a great investment since you will be able to wear them after your wedding day. Today’s brides are embracing changes, buying a heel height that works for them – from high heels, to more comfortable kitten heels or flats (yes, you will be on your feet most of the day).
How is the thought process of purchasing bridal shoes different from other shoes?
Understandably, you will be more discerning in picking your wedding shoes than any other shoes. After all, an average bride spends 6-8 months preparing for her wedding and wants her wedding details to be the best reflection of her aesthetic. So you will need to take into account your venue, wedding theme, and the rest of your wedding outfit(s). Since you will have higher expectations, be sure to spend more time doing your due diligence prior to making the final decision. Photography is an important element of your wedding day, so you will want to consider how photogenic your shoes are as well.
What should a bride look for in wedding shoe design?
At Bella Belle, we love a shoe with a fine artistry quality about it. It can be conveyed through beadings, embroideries or textural play. We love designs that celebrate femininity unabashedly. Look to the runway for inspiration and then find a beautiful interpretation of it. A pair of shoes only has several square inches of real estate to convey the vibe of the shoes. You know the phrase “perfection is when there is nothing left to take away”? It is especially true in well designed shoes. Each detail needs to be on-point.
What is the best wedding shoe?
There isn’t one answer to this question. But once you have narrowed your heel height, here are some suggestions. Bridal flats should be feminine, not frumpy. Wedding sandals should be dressy, not casual. Embroidered details should be modern, not traditional. Comfort should be balanced with sexy curves. If a shoe has toe cleavage and bare mesh material, we love seeing that juxtaposed with lower, more stable heels. On the other hand, if there is a thinner heel, we like to see straps that adequately secure the feet to make them shoes comfortable and wearable all day long.
