The Ceremony
We held the ceremony in a church; the ceremony was performed by a family member and included small things to make it special, such as my favorite songs when the bridesmaids and I walked down the aisle. I never thought I would have a traditional church wedding but I was able to add touches to make it personal.
The Reception
The reception was held at a park, which overlooks the Little Miami River. I wanted a very simple wedding, all white linens with gold accents and pink peonies against the lush greens of the park. We tented the back half of the pavilion and added a chandelier for some extra glamor. The location was so beautiful I didn’t think much was needed to add to it.

I am a fashion freak and placed the dress as my number one splurge item for the wedding; everything else from the flowers to the location was secondary. When I tried it on, I was sold. Vera Wang is known for being a top wedding dress designer for a reason-her dress was a dream to wear.

I wanted someone else to enjoy the dress as much as I did-I couldn’t imagine just putting it away in a box forever. I know many women hope that their daughter will wear their dress someday, but if I ever have a daughter I am sure she will want a new dress like I did.
