From Michaela, the Planner:
“We designed this rainy day in New York story for Daphne & Jack. The couple likes spending their weekends in the city exploring, going to the park with their dog, visiting museums, and cozying up with a good book. Our story begins on a Sunday morning at their apartment. Daphne and Jack start this rainy day with snuggles in bed and coffee over the New York Times crossword puzzle. Later that morning the couple heads out into the rain to make their way by cab to the MET where art history major Daphne loves spending her time wandering the halls. We conclude the story over a tender moment of Jack reading to Daphne from one of his favorite books.
When we design a story like this for a couple, we always look way beyond what will look good in a photograph. We take our time to get to know the couple, their everyday life, their style, and their favorite past-times. We look for the little things that make a couple unique. Things that may at times feel utterly mundane to themselves are what makes their story truly come to life. Based on what we uncover, we create a storyline for a shoot that feels personal and intimate; a set of scenes that will make them feel their most natural and comfortable. We want this feeling to shine through in every image.”
