Here is a glamorous and fun winter wedding from Edmonton, Alberta with a ceremony held at the same downtown cathedral where hockey hero, Wayne Gretzky was married! I love how pretty and playful Brittany looks in her Vera Wang ball gown called Hayley. Her loose up-do and long lashes work effortlessly with the gown’s ‘theatrical cascade of organza petals…and pleated honeycomb tulle’ (to quote the designer herself)…Don’t miss Brittany + Matthew’s fun hockey themed bridal photos or the velvety blue, white and silver color scheme throughout their ballroom reception, so grand and luxurious. Enjoy!

The Ceremony
We had a winter wedding in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on February 2nd, 2013. We both had a bridal party of 12 (including ourselves), a ring bearer, and 2 flower girls. We tied the knot at St. Josephs Basilica in downtown Edmonton. The ceremony was a large catholic wedding in the same church Wayne Gretzky got married. We had approximately 220 guests at our ceremony. The isle was decorated with snowy pine cones down the pews.
The Reception
The reception was at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton. It took place in the Empire Ballroom. The ballroom was decorated with Navy Blue and Crystal through out. We had winter trees brought in to decorate and make it more wintery.
Brittany’s Dress Search
My mother, myself, my maid of honor, my grandmother, and my aunt flew to Los Angeles to search for a dress. In my mind I knew I wanted a ball gown and we had a few appointments made with designers: Winnie Couture and Vera Wang. The last day in LA before we flew home we had lost hope until my aunt got a last minute appointment with SAKS 5th Avenue bridal department. I found the Hayley Vera Wang gown and fell in love, more so I knew my husband would love it.

Why Brittany Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
Hopefully someone out there can enjoy my dress as much as I did on my wedding day instead of my dress sitting in my closet.
