The Hill is where most of my inspiration stemmed from. I wanted our wedding to blend in with the property and with its location in the Southeast. So a garden-themed, rustic wedding is what we were going for.
I have a matchbook that has a green, vintage blue and rustic red swirl design on it. The colors and design reminded me of a garden, and so the matchbook design ended up being our color palette. Even though we did have a rough color palette, if I saw something that I loved, that I wanted to include, I found a way to somehow incorporate it.
Allison Lucas, a very talented woman and good friend, made all the bouquets and boutonnieres. I gave her a few pictures and told her about the overgrown garden and she created the most beautiful and unique bouquets. My bouquet was wrapped in burlap and lace.
I asked my friend Ashley Carolina Wills to create clutches for all of my bridesmaids. She made these clutches from an old book of fabric samples from an interior design store.
My bridesmaids and I were driven a few hundred yards in an old red truck to the ceremony. I hid in the middle of them so as to remain unseen by our guests and my groom.
Don’t you adore all the little details? I especially love her beautiful bouquet wrapped in burlap and lace. More beautiful images from Our Labor of Love coming up next…
