We think that the prettiest ideas for weddings come out of a person’s desire to explore what they personally are drawn to. Whether that person is a bride, an event planner, a floral designer or even someone who doesn’t consider him or herself to be creative, the process of trying new things, combining some elements and eliminating others can lend itself to the production of beauty.
In this editorial, floral designer Lisa of Sweet Woodruff in Toronto wanted to explore her personal aesthetic, which she terms as romantic minimalist. Luckily for us, and for you, she chose to work with flowers as her primary medium and created some beautiful wedding flower inspiration.

“I consider myself a romantic minimalist. And I’ve been thinking about that quite a bit lately. About how those two aesthetic concepts coincide with each other. About how something can be soft and pretty, but still modern and clean. This shoot with Jessica was a creative exploration of that.
To create a soft, but modern look we played with the juxtaposition: the hard lines of the industrial setting, paired with the softness that natural elements intrinsically have. To keep it simple, we focused on a monochromatic colour palette and used a combination of textures. To achieve subtle contrast we played with different surfaces like fabric, concrete and wood.”
