Part of the beauty of an elopement is that you can schedule your wedding day however you’d like. There’s no pressure to be anywhere at a certain time, and no need to worry about the groom seeing the bride before the ceremony. Today’s couple chose a tiny cabin in the Catskills to stay in. They got ready together and then headed into the mountains to say their vows. The warm tones of autumn foliage guided the choices in the bridal bouquet, featuring beautiful hydrangea that is just starting to dry naturally. The relaxed atmosphere of their elopement allowed the couple to feel calm and process their emotions naturally and peacefully. The result? An intimate, warm day that focused on their commitment to each other.

“Creating a day filled with meaning and emotion was the main intent behind this couple’s beautiful elopement. We chose a secluded destination that felt intimate and warm, a place where they had been coming for years together. Katie and I wanted to create something meaningful and that spoke to the nature of the mountains we were going to be shooting. The weather the morning of the shoot was not what we expected, but it turned out to create the most beautiful feeling for the couple and the day.
It was very important for us to create a day where the hustle and bustle of a huge wedding were left behind and the focus was reserved for this sweet couple. They spent the morning together in a small cabin in the Catskill Mountains in New York – revelling in the morning together, slowly waking up, and embracing their soon to be new life together.
As the morning passed he waited patiently for his bride in anticipation of joining their two hearts. The wild grasses set the tone for their ceremony and the beautiful autumnal colors of her bouquet tied everything together. As the day turned misty and the fog set in you could feel the quiet and the natural love they have for one another.”
