Real Wedding | Paulina + Todd

Paulina made all her dreams come true when she planned a simple, yet elegant ceremony in a stunningly beautiful church. Then the ceremony was followed by a sophisticated wedding reception at their favorite local restaurant. I love the fact that they kept things simple, and yet focused on adding all the little details that made the celebration their own. Don’t miss the mariachi band and one of the most unique (and chic) wedding cakes I’ve ever seen. This Texas couple brought all their favorites together to create a memorable and joyous celebration that friends and family will never forget.

The ceremony

Todd and I are both Catholic, so from the beginning we decided to have a full mass to celebrate our union, in front of our family and closest friends. I loved the church the minute I stepped foot in it almost four years ago. My Mom walked me down the aisle while my eyes were watching Todd, nothing else.

We only had two witnesses: his Dad and my oldest sister, Alina.  My niece and a friend were in charge of the Readings. No flower girls, no bridesmaids, no best man. Simple and intimate.

The reception

My reception was another dream come true. We chose our favorite restaurant in Fort Worth, named Lanny’s Alta Cocina. They closed the place just for our event, and I knew I had nothing to worry about because I know the chef. The events coordinator helped me with everything I requested: music set lists (we brought our own iPod, and saved money of a DJ or band!), table accommodations, menu settings, centerpieces, dishware, tablecloths, etc… The place looked amazing!

Elegant, beautiful and comfortable.

Why Paulina decided to sell her wedding dress

I love my wedding dress, but I love my husband more. Three days after our wedding, he went back to work and was laid off. He hasn’t found a job yet, so I am trying to give my gown a better use than staying pretty and preserved in my closet. I am honoring what I said at the church, in front of God and our loved ones: for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death do us part.
