Kristen + Matt’s spring wedding in Sarasota, Florida was sweet and sunny complete with lovely babies breath bouquet’s and a beautiful Oscar de la Renta, Dorian wedding dress. We love the details of this light and flowy strapless ball gown…Chantilly lace bodice with embroidered lace petals and subtle pearl seed beads and an enchanting tulle skirt and long sweeping tulle train. Enjoy!

The Ceremony
Our ceremony was on a perfect spring afternoon on the portico entrance to a country club. We were married under the roof where the roof came to a point and light came in from all sides, but the guests didn’t have sun beating down on them from above. My mom wove a rug in our wedding colors for us to be married on. A family friend officiated. Our procession song was “Olsen Olsen” by Sigur Ros.
The Reception
Our reception was inside the country club and we opened up to cocktail hour where we had bride and groom ginger themed drinks (we’re both redheads). We had a DIY photo wall with bar stools and ginger themed props of red hair, burly red beards and beard mustaches. Matt’s sister DJ’d. The first dance song was “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” from the Toy Story movie soundtrack. Our wedding favors were orange vanilla bean macaroons and purple rose petal macaroons from our favorite macaroon shop.
Kristen’s Dress Search
I tried on about 18 dresses. I picked my wedding dress because I felt most like a bride in it. It was beautiful, flattering, classic and not too trendy or revealing – all around just really special for a special day. The designer was Oscar de la Renta, and I’ve always loved him. Plus, it was kind of an ode to him since the designer has passed away. It did take some convincing for me to keep the long train, and I’m glad I did.
How Kristen Felt in Her Wedding Dress
My dress made me feel awesome! I felt gorgeous and comfortable and ready to get married to the man I love. I felt pretty and like jumping up and down and being a pretty princess all night.
Why Kristen Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
Everyone deserves to be happy and I also feel strongly about doing your best to be green. I want to pass along my dress so that it can be used again and another bride can feel happy and gorgeous in a designer dress.
