We are abuzz here over Kate and Robb’s gorgeous Chicago wedding. Their architectural bridal portraits against the background of the Nature Boardwalk structure are breathtaking, aren’t they? The rest of the wedding is just as beautiful, with a palette of soft mint and baby pinks, accented with stunning chandeliers for the perfect mix of urban and vintage.

The Ceremony
Galleria Marchetti is located in a beautiful garden tucked away in the middle of downtown Chicago. I felt very at ease during the ceremony because a judge who had been my boss for over 5 years married Robb and I, making it much more personal.
The Reception
Our reception was at the same venue as our ceremony, but in a brand new white tent with draping curtains in the middle of the garden, with crystal sconces and chandeliers to accent it. We chose the venue because it used to be an Italian restaurant featuring a large outdoor garden, which is pretty rare to find in the city, and I would dine there with my parents when I was younger so it had special meaning to me. I was going for a soft and romantic theme for the wedding. A variety of pink flowers accented the light sage green and ivory colors seen throughout the décor.
Kate’s Dress Search
I probably tried on about 20 dresses before I found “the one.” I’m not a crier, and was pretty apathetic with all of the other dresses I’d tried on prior. This one was so gorgeously designed I had tears down my face when I looked at it on myself.
How Kate Felt in Her Wedding Dress
Romantic, elegant, extraordinary.
Why Kate Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
There was a girl who saw me try on my dress and asked to try it on after me, she loved it too but sadly had to put it back due to the cost. I would love someone else in the same position to be able to have it.
