This is an image from Jose’s Workshop in Mexico last fall. (If you’re a photographer I hear there are still a few seats open for this year’s if you hurry! Totally worth it!!!) One challenge you may have already run into if you’re planning a wedding in Mexico and many other destinations…..there are very limited flower and decor options compared with getting married here in the states. So what’s a girl to do? Work with what you’ve got! In this case we brought a few packable items from the states–some linens from La Tavola, and custom wooden menus and place cards from Paloma’s Nest–and then found the rest locally.
We went a few days early to a local market and found the blown glass cylinders and little pink clay whistles. Then the day of, I went around and clipped bougainvillea and ti-leaves from the grounds and wrapped a few hot pink leaves around the votives with twine. Just be sure to do the bougainvillea last since they wilt fairly quickly.
