If I were planning my wedding today, what would it be like? There are a few specific details that spring to the front of my mind. I’d love to host a big party on a snowy winter night. An intimate gathering of immediate family and friends, sharing a large family-style meal in a small cabin in rural Minnesota. There would have to be a wood-burning fireplace crackling away all evening.
The palette would be deep and rich, using navy, charcoal, cream, and sage. The bride and groom would dress informally, but still elegant. The ceremony would be short and heartfelt, vows written by us. Not much extra fluff, just two people and their closest friends and family. There would be candles galore and the room would smell of the spruce trees, crisp winter air, and a home cooked meal.
