A Desert Table

desert wedding location

We carefully cut and tore watercolor paper for an artistic texture. Paige then took the paint hues of the Poppy flower and the desert sunset and watercolored them right on the paper, creating each one with various shades. There were no two alike. Kelly designed the ethereal, yet strong font text and antler image which we gocco’d with brown ink onto the watercolor. Affordable, easy and gorgeous. For the placecards, we took a vintage bone and antler photograph and printed the names and table numbers directly onto a copy of the photograph. This can easily be handwritten or calligraphed as well.

Kelly used her signature succulents to turn the copper pitcher into a poised vessel of plant love. The modernity of the succulents also represents the timeless terrain of the desert valley. She also pulled in the pops of color that Georgia loved to use in her paintings with springtime poppies. The poppies made for a happy, dainty bouquet mixed with fever few and tied with cotton rope for an earthy texture. Other desert inspired florals like thistle and tallow berry were sprinkled throughout the table.
