Another New York Bridal Fashion Week is in the books and just as history repeats itself, so does fashion. The runway was filled with time machine moments, taking wedding looks back to traditional styles but with added modern twists. Here are a few of the hottest trends for Fall 2020 bridalwear.
Puff Sleeves
In a nod to the 80s, puff sleeves are back! Big, billowy sleeves add a fashionable twist on the traditional long, fitted sleeve look.
Off the Shoulder
Sleeves of all kinds were having a moment on the runway, including barely there, off the shoulder sleeves that give the feel of a strapless dress with a tiny bit more coverage.
Frosted Crystal Tweed
Fashion house Viktor&Rolf put a winterized spin on the classic tweed fabric while giving it a bridal feel with the help three-dimensional crystals.
Colorful Veils
Gone are the days of heading down the aisle in a traditional white veil. Statement veils are in (looking at you Hailey Bieber) and what better way to make a statement than with color? From subtle hints of color to bold vibes, a veil is the perfect way to bring color into the ceremony look.
Circles and Swirls
Enter in the use of circles in bridal style. From circular ruffle patterns to beaded swirls, 360-degree twirls while wearing these gowns will be required.
Little House on the Prairie Vibe
Laura Ingalls Wilder would have been proud watching all the prairie wedding dresses that walked the runway. The detailing and volume of the sleeves may have a modern flair, but the ruffles of yore are here to stay.
Asymmetry
Mismatched is the new look. Symmetry is out and single sleeves, high slits, and decorative patterns are in. One popular way to make a subtle asymmetrical statement is with a bow. One-looped bows are hot for Fall 2020.
