When you say the words “wedding industry”, so many well-known designers come to mind. We think of Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera and so many others. Before they became world-renowned designers, they started as innovative creators with a dream to make it big.
We’ve been watching seven new designers that are picking up steam in the bridal world. If you don’t know their name by now, you’re about to. Here are the rising stars to keep an eye on.
Savannah Miller Bridal

After working for Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson, Savannah Miller launched her first bridal collection in 2016. She’s known for her elevated bohemian styles and timeless designs with a bit of rock-and-roll glam. She’s considered the “cool girl” in the bridal world and features trendy details in her gowns like pearls, sexy low backs, and shoulder embellishments. Her latest collection Love in a Mist boasts fashion-forward style, bold lines and floaty fabrics and trims.
Georges Hobeika

Known for his red-carpet creations, Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika has been in the haute couture business since 1995 but has only recently stepped into the bridal world. His label boasts exquisite craftsmanship, glamour, and jaw-dropping details. Hobeika says his goal is to have every bride get in touch with their femininity and feel beautiful on her wedding day. His latest collection The Color of Time is all about the immortality of love and taps into the essence of 1920s photography. The collection features light, colorful fabrics, simple lines, and airy volumes.
Danielle Frankel

You say fashion-forward, we think of NYC-based designer Danielle Frankel. In fall 2018 she debuted her bridal collection after designing for bridal icons Vera Wang and Marchesa. Her label boasts delicacy, whimsy, and vulnerability. Her goal is to make classic investment pieces that can be used beyond a bride’s wedding day like jumpsuits and two-piece sets. Although she’s only been in the bridal world for a few years, Frankel is already making headlines in VOGUE and has dressed a few celebrities for their big day.
Costarellos

Athens native Christos Costarellos has been an established read-to-wear fashion designer for a few decades, but he recently debuted wedding gowns. He prides himself on attention to detail for his sophisticated yet effortless designs. His use of romantic lace paired with hand-cut applique and soft frayed hems is a perfect pick for boho-chic brides. You must check out his latest Spring 2022 collection. The gowns are whimsical and dreamy and we’re totally in love.
Violette Tannenbaum

This next designer takes the cake on custom-made wedding gowns. French designer Violette Tannenbaum opened her atelier in 2015 after a friend asked her to create her dream dress. All her creations are made-to-measure through a one-on-one experience between the bride and Tannenbaum herself. Her goal is to create pretty, easy-to-wear dresses for brides to feel free, fashionable and sexy. Tannenbaum’s latest bridal collection, About This Romantic Girl, features lots of lace, flowy A-line skirts, and other dreamy touches.
Lihi Hod

Israeli designer Lihi Hod opened her bridal house in 2010 after working for Dior. She prides herself on creating stunning one-of-a-kind gowns for her brides. She’s known for rich, artisanal details, romantic flair, and timeless designs. By mixing classic silhouettes with luxurious textures, all brides are destined to feel comfortable and confident. Her 2021 bridal collection is so dreamy, with fairy-tale gowns featuring lace detailing and voluminous skirts.
Sophie et Voilà

Creative designer Sofía Arribas and CEO Saioa Goitia are the geniuses behind Sophie et Voilà. Together, these women have created an elegant and unique company that encourages brides to embrace their individual style. The gowns are hand-made in Bilbao and Madrid and boast designs that are minimal, modern, and architectural. These dresses truly stand out through eye-catching details, feminine accents, and dramatic flair.
