The Ceremony
We had a very intimate and naturally elegant ceremony that took place at a beautiful country club. We had flowing white linens and the center aisle was outlined with a dozen red roses and miniature glass vases with floating candles. Our love zone (what we called our altar) was in front of a huge rustic fireplace with a wood burning fire and candles and flowers draped along the mantle. We wanted our nuptials to be traditional and unique so we exchanged vows and we also wrote our own ‘expressions of love’ that we shared after our exchange of rings.
The Reception
Our reception was elegant and playful and took place indoors in a beautiful room with a veranda that overlooked the greenway. The decor was grey, white and red and designed by my mother…everything from the flowers to the linen was all her doing, which made the atmosphere so much more blessed, knowing she created the space from a place of love. The rest of the night was filled with amazing food. We decided to go with a four-course dinner and included a candy bar since we are obsessed with sweets. There were outrageously funny toasts from our parents, my sisters and the best man. The night ended with a couple fun dances, cupid shuffle of course and the wobble, cake cutting and a wonderful sparkler send away.

My dress was custom made and took a ton of time and effort…flying back and forth from North Carolina to New York for the fittings and then waiting for the dress to arrive from Israel. With that said, I’d love to make another bride’s experience less of a hassle, both financially and from a time-expense perspective.
