Intimate with an emphasis on community, Tea + Jason’s destination wedding in Mexico was a relaxed and meaningful day. The forecast called for a thunderstorm so the couple moved their outdoor ceremony to the resort’s lovely little white washed chapel. I love how the wedding guests took an active role throughout Tea + Jason’s ceremony – not only does everyone look great in their beachy white wedding attire, there is such a strong sense of love and support in the way the guests circled around the bride and groom for their vows. Just beautiful!

The Ceremony
A mutual friend introduced us to each other. What started off as a supportive and sweet friendship, blossomed into a lifetime of love. Jason proposed in May of 2013 at El Dorado Royale in Mexico by the ocean under a starry night sky. We married at the same location a year later in the presence of family and friends. In anticipation of a thunderstorm expected on the day of the wedding, we were advised to change the location of our wedding ceremony and reception from the beach to an indoor location. The day before the wedding, plan ‘B’ was set in place to hold the ceremony in the resort chapel and have the reception in a covered area by the pool. The ceremony itself emphasized the role of loved ones and community in supporting the newly weds on our journey of a happy and joyful life. In the end, the thunderstorm never came and pictures were happily taken on the beach following the ceremony.
The Reception
Following the ceremony, we invited guests to celebrate pool side to a covered hut. With tiny lights twinkling, candles in and around the pool and sunflowers everywhere, the reception was truly beautiful!
Tea’s Dress Search
I tried on lots of dresses, roughly 20-25 dresses. I quickly realized which style suited me best and that helped me narrow down my search. From the moment I saw the Ines Di Santo, Anastasie gown, I knew that this was my favorite gown. For months I continued to look at other gowns and try on many more but I kept coming back to this gown. It was truly the most stunning and flattering gown that I had ever seen. To me, everything else paled in comparison. I wanted to feel special and beautiful on my day, and I still receive compliments on this dress to this day!
