We love to share unique wedding hair and bridal beauty styles, because we know that many of you agonize over your hair and makeup trials, or the decision to wear a veil or a hairpiece, or what color of lipstick you should choose. That’s why we’re excited to share with you some of Chiali Meng Artistry’s new favorite styles. She’s sharing a collection of timeless looks for the modern bride – soft, sensual, and outside the box. If you, like many brides, want to look like the most radiant, luminous, and authentic versions of yourself, one of these ideas might be perfect.
A little more from the hair and makeup artist, Chiali Meng:
“One doesn’t need to be perfectly painted and done to be beautiful. The looks that I created for this shoot feature a lit-within, dewy, fresh complexion with just enough emphasis on the eyes and lips to keep it modern and not to detract from the model’s natural beauty. The hair styles that I chose have artfully tousled locks, touchable textures, and a bohemian romantic vibe. Some beauty and hair tips for brides:1. Beauty begins within. Take care of your skin. Keep a good skin regiment and a good diet to get that glowing bride look.2. It’s a myth that long hair will give you more options for hairstyles. In fact, graduated layers will actually help your stylist create the best possible look/updo. It helps to build the architecture of your hairstyle and will maximize the look/effect.”

From the photographer, Jen Huang:
“Chiali is endlessly talented and a huge inspiration to me. We have been working together on creating a portfolio that showcases what beauty should mean to a bride, both inside and out. As someone who appreciates a fresh and unique outlook in the wedding industry, I wanted these images to be evocative and different. The use of black and white film, double exposure and the mix of both traditional portraiture and closer, more ambiguous angles – all of that challenges me to elicit stronger, deeper feelings from the viewer. I also love that beauty isn’t just about false lashes or piles of foundations, but the shape of a neck, a lock of hair on the cheek, or the movement and flow of loose curls.”
