We don’t often receive a winter elopement, so this was a treat – especially since the shoot included a couple shoot, ceremony and dinner! This feature contains the couple shoot and this afternoon we will be sharing the ceremony and dinner. If you hadn’t really warmed up to the idea of a winter wedding before, this shoot may inspire you!
From event designer, Frannie:
For this winter photo shoot we took inspiration from nature, using the expansive monochromatic snowy landscape of Telluride as our backdrop. We created a look that is timeless, with clean lines; pairing classic décor and lush arrangements with organic accents to create an interesting balance. We explored the interplay of shadows and light, subtly juxtaposing black and white elements into each scene. Natural elements such as pedestals of ice and a canopy of spring bulbs are strong focal points.
To develop our story of a couple opting for a quiet intimate retreat instead of a traditional wedding, we chose a newly engaged couple, Shannon and Chuck, to model. Shannon and Chuck met by chance in Tulum Mexico, in 2016, They both felt certain of their future together after meeting, and Chuck proposed a year later when they were back in Tulum celebrating their first anniversary.
Loving this? Stay tuned for Part II of the shoot this afternoon!
