Sonia and Andy celebrated their wedding in grand party style, complete with lawn games and wine country festivities. The Ceremony
Our ceremony was an intimate family and friends celebration, officiated by one of our best friends. Every guest participated and had a role/contribution to the ceremony. The ceremony took place on a dock which extended out into Okanagan Lake with the stunning Okanagan Valley as a backdrop. My now husband and I were surrounded by our love and the love of the most special people in our lives in what we consider one of the most beautiful places we’ve been.
The Reception
Party time! We had homemade lawn games (corn hole, ladder golf, jumbo Jenga and croquet), booze canoe, a farm-sourced and local vineyard feast, and then dancing the night away under the stars to the high energy cover tunes of SideOne (who were probably the most complimented component of our reception). Highlight: piñata smash “cake cutting!”
Sonia’s Dress Search
I didn’t try too many dresses on. I went to three high end bridal salons in Toronto (my home town). At the third salon I fell absolutely in love with two dresses, both completely different but stunning each in their own right. I spent a month or so going over the pros and cons of each in my head (and with my maid of honor – bless her heart) but couldn’t decide. I thought about following the trend of getting two dresses (one for the ceremony and one for pictures) but my budget would not allow it.
Over the course of three months, I went back to the salon two times trying to decide between the two options. That was when a girlfriend told me about PreOwnedWeddingDresses so I checked out the site. Wouldn’t you know that one of my beloved dresses was up there for sale! And in my size! I was thrilled! Thanks to this site I was able to find my ceremony dress for a fraction of the price (although it looked like a million bucks). The dress I’m selling is my party/reception dress and while it has wonderful memories associated with it, to me it seems such a shame for such a beautiful fairytale gown to only be worn for about two hours. It is stunning and I hope that by selling it I can help some other bride’s dress dreams come true just like PreOwnedWeddingDresses did for me!
