You can almost smell the fresh mountain air when looking at the photos of Sarah and Jon’s Vail wedding. Although the spring weather wasn’t what they had hoped for their outdoor ceremony, a post-snow walk through the woods captured the romance of the forest for their wedding portraits. The Ceremony
We hoped to have our ceremony outside, but knew it was a gamble in early May in the Rockies. Sure enough, it rained and snowed all weekend, and we were so relieved we had the weather backup! Our ceremony was in a ballroom at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort and Spa and it was gorgeous. We had an Aspen tree chuppah (courtesy of Vintage Magnolia) and the staff at the Marriott made the ballroom a spectacular setting, second only to being outdoors mountainside!
The Reception
Our reception was at the Donovan Pavilion in Vail, which is a stunning building owned and operated by the Town of Vail. Our reception was understated, with minimal flowers and tons of tea lights for natural lighting. The gorgeous architecture of the Donovan Pavilion doesn’t need any dressing up at all!
