While the region is famous for it’s wine and slow food movement, combined with jaw-dropping hillside views, today’s featured wedding set in Piedmont in northern Italy is an absolute delight to the senses…Exquisite, decadent, and so incredibly gorgeous. I love how Sara + Maurizio look so perfectly charming in this idyllic atmosphere. Don’t miss Sara’s Jenny Packham sheath gown called Aspen; it’s light as air quality and delicate feminine details lend itself beautifully to the couple’s grand and ornate cathedral ceremony as well as their traditional Italian veranda-style reception. Enjoy!
Sara + Maurizio | July 20, 2013 | Monforte d’Alba, Italy | Dress Listing: Jenny Packham, ‘Aspen’
The Ceremony
We were married on July 20, 2013 in Monforte d’Alba, Italy. Monforte d’Alba is located in le Langhe area of Piedmont in northern Italy; a beautiful wine region surrounded by the Alps. Maurizio is from Rome, Italy, and I am from Maryland, but we lived in Turin for 2 years and fell in love with le Langhe. Since almost all guests were traveling from the USA or southern Italy, we organized events for the whole weekend. We had a catholic ceremony in the beautiful church of Monforte d’Alba.
The Reception
The reception took place at the Agriturismo La Torricella. We had the cocktail hour outdoors in the garden, followed by a six-course meal, and then dancing until 3am!
Sara’s Dress Search
I knew that I wanted something light, since we were getting married in July. After searching in the US, Italy, and England (we moved from Italy to England in November 2012 – in the middle of wedding planning), I decided on the Aspen by Jenny Packham. It was light, flowed like water, and with a bit of lace, it was perfect for the vineyard setting.

Why Sara Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I absolutely loved my dress, but as we move and travel fairly often, it is impractical to take with us on every move considering that I will most likely never wear it again.
