Ruthie & Boris | November, 23rd, 2013 | Addison Park, NJ | Dress: Monique Lhuillier Forever
The Ceremony:
We had a traditional chuppah with a reformed rabbi. There were candles and white rose petals down the aisle. The chuppah itself had ivory drapery with a full top of ivory roses and orchids cascading down. Beautiful crystal balls with candles inside hung behind us.
A string trio played our songs. He came down the aisle to The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony, and My mother walked me down the aisle to Snow Patrol- Chasing Cars. We said our own vows which we both laughed and cried to. It was magical.
The Reception:
We had a full ballroom for our 300 plus guests. The floors are black and white, and our tables were adorned with black candelabras and ivory roses. Our first dance was to John Legend, All of Me.
Ruthie’s Wedding Dress Search:
I tried on 4 dresses all in one boutique. However I had come in with a photo of the Monique Lhuillier Forever dress, and knew that if it fit the way I imagined it would, that would be the dress. So I saved it for last, and when I came out of the dressing room and looked at my mom, we both knew.
How She Felt in her Monique Lhuillier:
Surreal, eloquent, perfect
Why She’s Selling Her Wedding Dress:
I decided to sell my wedding dress because I want someone else to enjoy it too. It seems foolish to have spent so much money on my dress for it to collect dust in an attic. I want my dress to experience another night full of love and happiness. I want my dress to become your dress, for a much cheaper price!
