Refined Fall Wedding at a Historic Home

We’re all about weddings and events hosted at historic buildings, especially when they feature lush, garden-inspired flowers and an elegant aesthetic. This refined fall wedding inspiration shoot is the perfect example. Set at the historic Bloedel Reserve (a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle), it combines some of our very favorite wedding design elements: luscious flowers, beautiful textures (velvet pumps and that lace gown!), statement wedding invitations, and a gorgeous color palette inspired by the natural surroundings.

The color palette feels both current and fresh, highlighting the ever-popular marsala (one of Pantone’s Color of the Year in 2015) in combination with a few unique shades: soft peach, turquoise, and this delicious autumnal foliage that is almost green, almost brown. Designer Sinclair & Moore opted to introduce the brighter shades using velvet table linens and ribbon, which create an inherently refined feel. The palette is luxurious and regal, which fits flawlessly with the venue, while also bringing in that perfect sense of warmth that we all crave at fall and winter weddings.

Read on for more about this shoot from the designer, Steve Moore of Sinclair & Moore:
“The Bloedel Reserve is a public garden that not only takes you back in time to a different era, but also transports you across the Atlantic to the likeness of properties you would find in European countries. From the well manicured gardens to the architecture of the home, there is a timeless classic flair everywhere you turn. When I designed the tablescape for this shoot, I wanted to make sure to honor the historic feel that Bloedel is known for while introducing an unexpected color combination to give everything a fresh yet refined look. We pulled inspiration from the colors that we found around the gardens and then layered rich textures with vintage pieces that were reminiscent of the era when the Reserve was created. Our goal was to give a nod to the past, while still creating something fresh for today. ”
