Some weddings just pull at your heartstrings. The wedding of Rebecca and Nathan pulled on mine big time. Maybe its because it reminds me so much of our wedding(tiny ceremony with a big party a few months down the road) or because the bride did such a wonderful job planning such an intimate celebration with family and friends. Plus, the photos from Tealily Photography are just divine. Rebecca was kind enough to share some details behind their wedding…
nathan and i were married in november of last year in a tiny ceremony on a thursday. we’re both quite shy so it suited us perfectly but we still wanted to celebrate in some way with our families and friends who couldn’t be in attendance. we live in the blue mountains which is about an hour and a half out of sydney, however, we chose to hold our celebration in the city and stayed a few days.
we didn’t have a theme or “wedding colours” so we started by picking wheat as a motif. it is symbolic of eternal life, nourishment and fruitfulness. after a few months of searching i found a bakery large enough to throw our dinner party in and i couldn’t believe how perfect it was! we also carried the bread/wheat motif through to the invitations and nathan’s braided wheat wedding band.
