There is so much to love in Rebecca and James’s wedding today! I’m obsessed with the unique, slightly industrial venue that served as both their ceremony and reception space, for one. But add in a terrarium dessert bar (yes, you read correctly) alongside tablescapes dotted with newspaper placesettings and green succulents nestled between glowing lights and it’s a stunningly modern California wedding.

The Ceremony
The ceremony was outside and was officiated by my brother. He spent over a year preparing. It was so personal and special. The space was so beautiful that we didn’t feel we needed to add anything to it.
The Reception
The SmogShoppe has a lot of character so we wanted to play off of that. We didn’t want to fight the space. We bought vintage marquee lights that read “Mr & Mrs” and they were the backdrop of our sweetheart table. Our tables were littered with cafe lights, mason jars half painted white with a candle inside of them, and terrariums. We didn’t want traditional flowers so we opted for more eccentric ones. Each seat had a personalized silver name strip, striped napkin, photobooth photo of James and I thanking them for coming, and a newspaper placemat. It was very us.
Rebecca’s Dress Search
I started my search thinking that I wanted a strapless dress with a drop waist. I didn’t want any poof, but I wanted all tulle. What I ended up with was completely different. This dress was the first dress that I tried on and I immediately fell in love with it. It’s handmade lace from top to bottom. The underneath part is all silk. It’s incredible. Once I tried it on there wasn’t another dress that even came close.
