Real Wedding | Trisha + Jeff

Original and beautiful, today’s Real Wedding is loaded with style. Set in downtown Los Angeles, modern architecture was the amazing backdrop for Trisha and Jeff”s ceremony and reception. I love the way Trisha contrasted old with new by including some DIY elements with vintage feel. Don’t miss the hanging glass votives filled with gorgeous flowers at the alter or the antique keys used to mark table assignments. My favorite element? The sheer fabric tied to the chair backs to create a soft and whimsical effect. So pretty!

The ceremony

We got married outdoors at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.  We had a string quartet playing Strings by Reiko for the prelude and ceremony. It was an intimate ceremony with 90 of our closest family and friends.  My husband and I wrote our own vows. We used different shades of pink ranunculus, peonies, and hydrangeas encased in glass ball votives hanging at the altar, with scroll-shaped pink rose petals for the wedding aisle.  Also, I hand made Swarovski pink jewelry for my bridesmaids.

The reception

After the cocktail hour, our reception was held at the Blue Ribbon Garden on the second level of the Walt Disney Concert Hall.  We had subtle blush, magenta, and champagne out door lighting with the backdrop of the billowing silver structure of the concert hall, and the skyline of downtown Los Angeles.  We tried to incorporate some romantic pieces such as vintage skeleton keys, birdcages, and ruffled sheer linens to soften up the modern feel of the venue.

How Tricia found her dream wedding dress

I knew I wanted a Monique Lhuillier trumpet-style gown with lace.  Monique Lhuillier gowns are always timeless yet with a modern twist.  I found my dress on my first trip with my sister to try on gowns during a lunch break!  I tried on 5 gowns, and found the Monique Lhuillier Dolce trumpet dress.  I was surprised how much I loved the tulle with the lace.  I couldn’t believe I found my dream gown in 30 minutes!

Why Trisha decided to sell her wedding dress

I want another bride to be able to enjoy this amazing Monique Lhuillier gown, and at an affordable price. Plus, it’s eco-friendly!
