High school sweethearts Thao and Robert said “I do” with a lavish wedding and reception in their beautiful California hometown. Friends and family gave their time and energy to help create beautiful DIY projects that made their celebration personal and unique. Thao’s incredibly gorgeous strapless dress took center stage with a beautiful sweetheart neckline, dropped waist and ball gown silhouette. The fabric rosettes and tulle underlay adorned with crystals make this dress simply exquisite. In the end all the little details fell perfectly into place and guests were wowed by a glamorous and elegant celebration of the couple’s love. Congratulations to this beautiful couple!

How they met:
We met in high school and have been together ever since. We married after 13 years of dating.
The ceremony:
It was a traditional Catholic ceremony. Church was decorated with birdcage centerpieces down the aisle.
The reception:
We had an outdoor reception. Guests sat under string lights on a cool summer night. The huge oak trees lit up with color LED lights.
Splurges and Savings:
We splurged on the venue itself, having an open bar with beer and wine, place card frames, and chiavari chairs. We saved by creating our own DIY road signs, DIY seating chart, and DIY vinyl stickers. I saved by wearing a second hand gown.
How she knew her wedding dress was “The One”
I tried on 4 wedding gowns. I fell in love with my gown upon trying it on but I could not afford it so I settled for another. I bought the gown and ended up finding THE gown 2nd hand at a much more affordable price. I sold the first gown and ended up with the gown of my dreams! I knew it was the one when it felt right wearing it. I felt like a princess and it made me feel so beautiful.
Why she decided to sell her wedding dress:
I wanted to pass on the dream dress to someone who loves it as much as I do, but for an even better price. I remember what it felt like to have to settle and I don’t want that to happen to another bride out there. Why keep it when I can make someone else just as happy?
