The ceremony

Our ceremony was held at One Ocean Spa and Resort.  It was perfect! We were surrounded by a dozen of our closest friends and family for a quaint ceremony on the beach. I walked down the aisle as a string quartet played, and I completely surprised myself when tears began falling and blurred my vision — thank goodness I had my dad to help navigate me! There were so many special parts to that day … hearing Vince say his vows, sharing with my (step)dad that I planned to change my middle name to his family name, taking pictures in my Korean dress (han bok) with my sister and mom … the list could go on. One of the most special moments was when Vince and I planted a Magnolia bonsai to symbolically represent the beginning of our family tree as the quartet played “Married Life” from the Disney/Pixar movie “Up.”

The reception

Our evening reception was highlighted by the company of our intimate group of friends and family in our private dinning room. We enjoyed excellent hors d’oeuvres and entrees courtesy of the chefs at Ruth’s Chris, and delicious treats surrounding the main feature – our Classic Cakes wedding cake.  One vivid memory is of our guests signing the first pages of our custom “O+V Adventure Book” made to imitate the adventure diary featured in “Up”.

How Olivia found her dream wedding dress

I started my dress search looking for a style that would show off my waist, but hide my hips and thighs. I was hoping to find a dress to highlight my upper half and hide my lower half. I was searching for one that was delicate, feminine, elegant, and classic with a little sparkle. I did end up purchasing the perfect dress to meet all those needs.

I felt feminine, beautiful, and elegant.

Why she decided to sell her wedding dress

I decided to sell my dress because during my own dress search, I had such a difficult time finding the dress at a manageable price.  I really wanted to find a pre-loved dress for myself.  Fortunately, after at least a year of searching, both online and at bridal boutiques, I found the dress. It was magic. I knew I would blow our budget if I purchased it, but I could not bear to part with it.  I decided that I would purchase it knowing that I must resell it after the wedding day. Now this like-new dress can be enjoyed by another bride for her special day and both of us can put the money we save from doing this towards our future lives with our hubbies. 🙂
