Today’s gorgeous destination wedding is sure to inspire you! Megan and Luis invited family and close friends to Miami for an intimate celebration. They married outdoors at a historic Spanish monestary then enjoyed an elegant hotel dinner reception complete with gorgeous floral arrangements and a locally inspired menu. Later in the evening, a well-known local DJ spiced things up and brought a Latin flair to the dance floor. Looking at their beautiful photographs I can almost feel the warm tropical breeze at this amazing celebration.

The ceremony
Our wedding vision was always a destination wedding. Being from the Chicago area, we wanted our family and friends to travel somewhere with us, and celebrate this occasion in a beautiful, tropical location. Miami seemed to be the perfect fit for a lovely extended celebration. As our guests arrived at the Spanish monastery where we were married, they were escorted through to the Prayer Well, which was at the center of the monastery, lush with palm trees and other greens. Our pianist and violinist greeted them with lovely music as they sat in perfect sunny and 75 degree weather. We could not have planned it better, and it was truly magical.
The reception
We wanted to plan a reception that was personal to us and our family and friends. After the ceremony, all of our 50 guests were transported back to The Palms Hotel and Spa in guest Hummer limos which we had stocked with personalized individual champagne bottles. After the cocktail hour, we moved inside for dinner in the ballroom adjacent to the terrace which granted easy access outdoors for a late-night cigar or fresh Miami air. The tables were set with blush-colored votive candles that surrounded our floral centerpieces: light green hydrangeas and blush and light peach spray roses. Our family and friends do not need any encouragement to dance the night away, but our DJ supplied a vibrant Miami flair to the reception that we will never forget!
The way Megan felt in her wedding gown
Beautiful, special, lovely. I felt so special in this gown because the dress itself is a work of art. From the beautiful wrapped bodice, to the crystal corsage on the right hip, and the ivory kick on the bottom of the dress, all of the elements of the gown come together so perfectly.
Why Megan decided to sell her wedding dress
A gown like this deserves to be worn! It would be hard for me to keep this gown in a box in my closet. It is so special, and made me feel so special, that I would love someone else to be able to wear and enjoy it.
