Mary + Ben’s wedding in Washington, D.C. was a wonderful mixture of modern and classic style. It’s a beautiful thing when the same venue can offer bright and airy ambiance for a multi-denominational ceremony and then lend itself as a glowing and romantic night atmosphere for the cocktail reception…I love transformations like this! Other notable things not to miss: Mary’s Amsale gown with asymmetrical neckline and bow detail in off-white, the crisp and elegant table settings (even the napkins are a lovely nod to the design of Mary’s dress) and the bridal party’s bouquets beautifully displayed around the cake during the reception. Enjoy!

The Ceremony
We had a short ceremony reflecting multiple denominations, our beliefs, and our commitment to each other.
The Reception
We had a modern cocktail reception featuring a live string trio followed by a 3-course dinner and all-ages fun-focused dancing with DJ Chris Laich.
Mary’s Dress Search
I started my dress search expecting to get something completely different than what I fell in love with, but when I put this Amsale gown on, I knew instantly it was my dress.

Why Mary Decided to Sell Her Dress
I firmly believe that re-using is a higher form of recycling and while I didn’t end up finding my wedding dress at a consignment shop, I hope that someone will be able to fall in love with this dress the way I did and wear it again. I have been buying and selling my clothing via consignment for years, so this seemed like a logical choice for my dress now that the big day has passed.
