Lisa + Jason | December 23, 2011 | Lavender Hill, Waiheke Island, New Zealand

The ceremony

We held the ceremony out the front of the property in front of the water fountain which was overflowing with lush white roses. The view was spectacular, the weather amazing and all our nearest and dearest surrounded us in a seated semi-circle as we made our vows to one another. Following the ceremony guests ventured over to the bar area which was decorated in gorgeous silver ware, flowers and candles where Moet, water and flavoured San Pelligrino were served complete with black and white striped paper straws.

The reception

As we were based in Hong Kong, we needed a planner with a keen eye for style and to source a venue. We were presented with a lavish selection of stunning venues however Lavender Hill caught our eye with it’s incredible ocean views.

Our wedding theme was based around colours – black and white with a touch of green. We wanted a chic event that encompassed fabulous views, food, drink and dancing, we wanted our guests to have fun! One of our favourite details was the custom made black and white striped napkins which PS. I LOVE YOU EVENTS had made for our event and they looked fabulous along with the black and white striped cushions attached to our seats. There was a lush candy bar complete with black, white and green candy which was lovingly devoured by everyone!

How Lisa found her dream wedding dress

At first I wanted a very contemporary look but after getting in contact with a school friend who had recently been married and had a stunning dress, she recommended Monique Lhuillier. After looking at her website I fell in love with Ingrid design and after trying it on I knew it was the one for me.

How Lisa felt in her wedding dress

Beautiful, elegant, glamourous.

Why she decided to sell her wedding dress

Living in Hong Kong means not a lot of storage space. As we are not sure where we will end up, and anticipate moving around a lot it would be a shame to lug around such a beautiful dress when it could get use elsewhere.
