Real Wedding | Lily + Matthew

It was vintage charm meets old world elegance at Lily and Matthew’s California wedding.  The stage was set for fun at the ceremony, when their officiant wore traditional Austrian Lederhosen, and the ring bearer was an adorable four legged friend. The laid back, casual vibe was carried on at the dinner reception, where friends and family danced the night away. Lily’s gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown was so perfect for the occasion…not too formal or relaxed…it was absolutely stunning and truly “a dream come true” for this beautiful bride.

The ceremony

We got married in the Truckee outdoor amphitheater – it’s quite cute, and such a central place in our town, and a quarter mile from the reception site. We wanted it to not just be about us, but involve those who were there supporting us. It was about love and community. It was a truly unique blend of things – It was elegant, but not grand – still simple. It felt really casual and comfortable….outdoors, sunny and warm.  We had various readings and speakers, and we had a Tish before the traditional ceremony.  Our officiant wore his traditional Austrian Lederhosen.

The reception

Our reception was held at the Cedar House Sport Hotel in Truckee.  The hotel is decor on it’s own – it speaks for itself and not much else was needed to make this reception a wonder. We starting giving our theme names surrounding the ideas of European Rustic Elegance – we still wanted it be casual, our food was European picnic, served family style. We served Italian Iced Teas as our signature cocktail.  All of the flowers were colorful, loose and wild with greenery. My mom made all of the tablecloth overlays that were out of this world. Our decor was made with things we made, things we had and a hodge-podge of stuff put together. But most of all, the people gave it the most personality and it was WILD!

How Lily found her dream wedding dress

Since the direction of the decor of our wedding was going in a slightly European direction, I knew exactly which dress I had to have! I saw it when I first got engaged, on the Martha Stewart website, while I was looking for dress ideas. The dress looked regal, unique and slightly Spanish to me. I knew it was the one. I discovered it was no longer being made, so PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com was my answer. I searched the site often to search for this exact dress. I finally found my dress on the site and bought it immediately. It was a dream come true!

It was a sample gown, only tried on a handful of times, never altered. Upon trying it on…it fit like a glove…no alterations needed! CRAZY! It was meant to be!

The way Lily felt in her wedding dress

I felt like a queen, so unique and glamorous.

Why Lily decided to sell her wedding dress

I want to sell it because I want another bride to be as happy at her wedding as I was at mine, and to feel as beautiful as I did.  I’ve never felt so marvelous!
