Real Wedding: Kristin and Dick

Have you heard the saying “Everything’s Bigger in Texas.”  I think that phrase definitely applies to the wedding of Kristen and Dick held on April 4, 2009 in South Texas.   Their wedding was truly outstanding.  Something a girl only dreams about.   Here are some of the amazing details. (Be sure you are sitting down).

Kristin and Dick’s wedding was held at the La Paloma Resort  – which the couple purchased for themselves as a wedding gift.  Fittingly, the wedding was the first event held there.

As guests arrived, they were greeted by the groom and entertained by a full mariachi band and served hors d’oeuvres and champagne. Guest then made their way to ceremony where a brass quintet played accompanied by a 100 person choir.  The sunset ceremony was held on a marble platform under a canopy of 30,000 red roses.

Kristin made her entrance  as  the original “Here Comes The Bride” was sung in German by the choir.

At the reception, as a total surprise for his new wife, Dick had Wayne Newton and a big band orchestra serenade Kristin as the second song of the night.

The cuisine was created by the world famous Club Giraud,

and the wedding cake was 7 layers and the groom’s cake was fashioned to look like wine bottles in a wooden case.

To top it off, after eating, dancing, and celebrating, the bride and groom left in a hot air balloon.

Anyone else saying “wow” out loud? I asked Kristin why she was selling her dress.  She said because it was too beautiful a dress to sit in a closet forever.  I completely agree.
