The ceremony

Cameron is in the military, and two months after he proposed we found out that he was going to be stationed out of the country. We had 2 ½ weeks to plan a wedding! We debated eloping and then having a full wedding later, but we inevitably decided we might as well do it once, and do it the way we wanted the first time, so we enlisted the help of our families and got it all done in two weeks.

The reception

We had our reception a few blocks away from the church at Vincenzo’s Italian Restaurant, and we could not have asked for a more incredible reception location. This is one of the best restaurants in Louisville, and we were lucky enough to reserve one of their beautiful private rooms that had an adjoining outdoor courtyard. After dinner and cake cutting, everyone headed outside for dancing. The courtyard had cute bistro tables and chairs set up, and at each corner there were giant stone planters with trees decorated with sparkling white lights. It was so beautiful to literally be able to dance outside under the stars, and it really made the entire reception something special and unique.

How Kelly knew her wedding dress was “The One”

This was the first dress I tried on, and I knew the second I put it on that it was perfect for me. Unfortunately, the shop said it was too late to order the dress in time for my last-minute wedding, and they also wouldn’t sell me the dress off the rack because it was a new design. I was so disappointed, but I decided at that point I would just have to try to convince myself that the dress wasn’t really that important. Luckily, I have the most amazing little sister in the world, and she went to the designer’s website and called every shop in the country that might carry this dress, until she found one willing to sell her their brand new sample dress. I am eternally grateful to her that I got to wear my dream dress.

How Kelly felt in her wedding dress

My wedding dress made me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt.  It made me feel elegant, glamorous, confident and just really stunning.

Why Kelly decided to sell her wedding dress

My little sister paid for my wedding dress because she knew I couldn’t afford it at the time, and she wanted my dream dress to be her gift to me. I really want to sell my dress back so I can repay her for being so amazingly thoughtful and loving. I also want to sell it because that dress made me feel so spectacular, and I would love for someone else to love that dress as much as I did.
