Real Wedding | Kathleen + Grant

Kathleen and Grant dreamed of a wedding that was festive and fun, but felt personal and meaningful too.  Their gorgeous Florida ceremony and reception was all that, and more. They found a gorgeous natural setting at a local country club, and even wrote their own vows.  Don’t miss the amazingly beautiful canopy under which they said “I do.” The crystal beads and natural wood structure is awesome inspiration for couples looking to add a romantic element to their celebration.

The ceremony

Our ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful University Park Country Club. It was a very short ceremony. The ceremony was officiated by my cousin who became ordained while he was a sniper in the Marines. We both wrote our own vows.

The reception

I wanted the reception to be very romantic and elegant but lots of fun so we did lots of candlelight, low lighting, crystals, and swag fabric. We went with an open bar for the fun factor. At one point there was even a dance off!

How Kathleen found her dream wedding dress

I had no idea what type of dress I wanted. I knew I definitely didn’t want a princess-type ball gown because I’m so small I would drown in it. My dress was actually the first dress I tried on and my bridesmaids were the ones that found it. I didn’t think I would like it at all, but after trying on many more dresses I found myself constantly comparing it to this one.

Why she decided to sell her wedding dress

I don’t plan on using it again and I would like someone else to feel the way I felt.
