Jenna’s beachfront wedding to Justin was romantic and fun. Married under a sunny blue sky, this charming couple released white doves to celebrate their union. Bagpipes playing during the recessional were a nod to Jenna’s Scottish heritage. You’ll love seeing the gorgeous sunset photo shoot on the beach that showcased her amazing Kenneth Pool wedding gown. Fitted and flattering, it was both traditional and unique. A real showstopper on her big day, Jenna was truly a picture perfect bride!
Jenna + Justin | October 23rd, 2011 | La Playa Beach Resort in Naples, Florida
The ceremony
We got married at the La Playa Beach Resort surrounded by our closest family and friends, that flew in from near and far (some all the way from Scotland) to join us on our special day. The weather was absolutely perfect as it was not too hot and there was a nice breeze. Our romantic ceremony took place on the resort lawn, right next to the beach, with the canopy draped in light material, and an array of gorgeous flowers in shades of cream, ivory, and purple to decorate the canopy front. Our ceremony was performed beautifully, and was both emotional, with a touch of humor. During the ceremony we released white doves. It was so peaceful to watch them all circle around and fly off along the skyline just before the sun went down. Since my family I were originally from Scotland, a bagpiper piped us back down the isle, which was very moving.
The reception
After the ceremony, everyone headed up to the 2nd floor terrace, which overlooked the ocean, for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. As soon as our guests entered the doors, they were overwhelmed with candles, crystal chandeliers, and tall vases of floating orchids. Our guests enjoyed the spectacular ocean view as they sipped on champagne and cocktails, and nibbled on the tasty hors d’oeuvres. The reception was very elegant and romantic, decorated in shades of champagne and gold, glimmering floating candles, and tall crystal candelabra centerpieces containing orchids, roses, and hydrangeas. Purple up-lighting added that touch of color that just brightened everything up and gave the room a more romantic glow. Our wedding was the best day of our lives and couldn’t have been more perfect. We were surrounded by the people that mean the most to us, and were so lucky to be have been able to share our special day with them.
How Jenna found her dream wedding dress
My wedding dress was one of the very first dresses that I tried on and absolutely fell in love with. I actually picked it out myself when I saw it hanging outside of a dressing room. Although I knew in my gut that this was “the one” when I first put it on, I tried on about 30 other dresses, but kept comparing every dress to that one. It made me feel like a princess bride when I tried it on, fit like a glove, and just felt so perfect. When I tried it on again, my Mum said I was beaming from ear-to-ear, and that was when we knew it was my dress!

Why Jenna decided to sell her wedding dress
Although I would love to wear my dress over and over again, I recently decided that I didn’t want my gorgeous dress to be sitting in a box at the back of my closet. I know that it is “tradition” to save my wedding dress for when my daughter gets married, but I figured that she would have her own taste and would choose a different dress.
