M is the letter of the day here in the land of Pre Owned Wedding Dresses…M is for Mexican wedding, magnificent Monique Lhuillier gown and an absolutely majestic parish church! I love that Hsin and Rafael chose to have their wedding in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for it’s beauty and romance and for it’s closeness to Rafael’s Mexican roots. And how about the lace on Hsin’ gown? Isn’t it fantastic how rich and textured it looks against every backdrop? Centuries old parish church, cobblestone roads, terracotta colored walls, late night fireworks…the possibilities are endless!
Hsin and Rafael | February 18, 2012 | San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
The Ceremony
The ceremony was a Catholic Mass held at La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. La Parroquia is the town’s landmark church and was built in the 17th century.
The Reception
My husband and I love to travel so we chose to have our wedding in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We chose San Miguel as our wedding destination not only because of the town’s beauty and romance, but also for its closeness to my husband’s Mexican roots. We held our reception at Casa Schuck, a restored 18th century colonial home. Our guests stayed in the home with us and in nearby hotels and bed & breakfasts.
Hsin’s Dress Search
I have always found Monique Lhuillier to make beautiful gowns, so she was the first designer I tried on. When I tried on the Ingrid dress, I knew it was the one. It was a show stopper in a very simple yet elegant way. The lace is so delicate and absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our Mexican wedding.
