Intimate in size, but bold in style, this small wedding makes a big impression. The couple’s favorite Indian restaurant provided the stunning backdrop for the reception; the bright colors and décor created a festive atmosphere. Deni’s gorgeous Elie Saab dress was the perfect contrast to the bold décor. Soft and delicate…light and ethereal, Deni was truly a site to behold in her amazingly romantic gown.

The ceremony
We had a civil ceremony at the Old Marylebone Townhall in London, which a historic building with spirit that has witnessed the weddings of many famous people in London in the last 300 years. We had invited a string instrument quartet to play before, during and after the ceremony. The classical music gave a nice touch to the ceremony, the celebrants at the Marylebone Townhall were very friendly and made every effort to personalize our ceremony. They took their time, made funny jokes and gave us the feeling they really were there just for us.
The reception
We had the reception in Veeraswamy, our favorite Indian restaurant in London. It is the oldest Indian restaurant in London and looks very colorful and joyful. We had hired the private room for 30 people, which gave us privacy and looked absolutely magical. As we had planned to go on honeymoon to India the very next day the Indian setting of the reception really put us in the right mood. We love bold colors and designs so this location gave us exactly what we were looking for.
How Deni found her dream wedding dress
I originally wanted a mermaid dress as I was convinced it would look great on me. I even ordered a Monique Lhuillier dress but once it arrived it looked very unflattering on me, and two weeks before the wedding I had to buy a new dress! I was very stressed, as I knew that all designer dresses had to be ordered first but nevertheless I went to Pronovias in Harrods and they had three Elie Saab dresses in storage, in my size. When I tried the Minerva dress I knew that I was the dress! It just felt like me. I was initially concerned that the dress might be a bit too grand for a small wedding like ours but at the end I felt very comfortable with it.
The way Deni felt in her wedding dress
Graceful, happy, like a fairy!
Why she decided to sell her wedding dress
I bought the dress in the last moment as my original Monique Lhuillier dress did not fit me properly so I incurred larger expenses that I had originally planned for. Therefore I decided to sell my dress after the wedding so I could recover some of the damage done. Additionally, the dress is so pretty that it would be a pity to stay locked in a cupboard without anyone wearing it ever again.
