Real Wedding | Caroline + Peter

I love the use of color in today’s Real Wedding. The bright pink and orange flowers really pop against the elegant ivory bridesmaids dresses – and coordinate with their bright pink shoes – love it!  At the reception, gold, pink and orange set the stage for one of the most gorgeous tablescapes I’ve ever seen. If you are looking for a little inspiration, this classic wedding is sure to be one of your favorites.

The ceremony

The ceremony was short and sweet and full of laughter. We had the ceremony around a zodiac sign on the lawn out front of the Ca d’Zan Mansion at the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art. We were surrounded by banyan trees, palm trees and ~100 of our closest family and friends who arrived via old fashioned trolley. The ceremony was approximately 15 minutes and filled with words of love and hope for the future.

The reception

We funneled the Ringling Circus theme into our reception with the fun color scheme of gold, pink and orange and little hints of the circus including whirly pop escort cards, a ferris wheel guest book and similarly themed table numbers. There was much dancing including an orchestrated breakout of the Cupid Shuffle and a late night serving of sugar donuts and warm jelly to keep the energy level high. Finally at 11pm the show had to close and the guests were transported to an after party at the Ca d’Zan Lounge at the Ritz Carlton where more memories were made.

How Caroline felt in her wedding dress

Classic, Comfortable and Pretty

Why she decided to sell her wedding dress

I live in New York where space is a premium. As much as I would love to save this dress for a rainy day pick me up it’s just not practical. Plus, it is so pretty and was barely used. It deserves a second day/night out of the bag!
