What could be more perfect than an outdoor spring wedding between two people whose families and friends have become intertwined?
Take a look at the Silverado Canynon, California wedding of Ashley and Greg. Here’s the story in Ashley’s words:
The proposal:
Greg proposed on Christmas Eve. It was late, we had just come home from my parent’s home and we were opening gifts from one another, but no ring. So I go up stairs to get ready for bed and one of our mini dachshunds comes up to me with a ring on her collar. Greg came up right behind her and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
The ceremony:
The whole wedding was outdoors, including the ceremony. My favorite part of our ceremony & cocktail hour was the steel drum band we had playing. My bridesmaids walked down the aisle to “Girl from Ipanema,” which was simply amazing! Our ceremony was short, sweet and full of laughter.
The reception:
A Party! Greg & I had known each other for 10 years when we got married, so everyone in our families knows one another, as do our friends, which really help create a relaxed and fun energy. The weather was beautiful, luckily because you never know with March, and everything came together so beautifully.
Honestly, the whole day was amazing. I can’t think of any particular moment that stuck out to me, but Greg, as cliche as it sounds said that his most memorable moment was when I walked down the aisle to the calypso steel drum version of “Samba Pa Ti.”
Budget idea:
To help on costs, I made our place cards and table name frames, which were themed after candy bars.
Ashley wore a Monique Lhuillier Claire wedding dress.
