I’ve simply fallen in love with Amelia & Micah, and their sweet hometown wedding. Married by her father, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows they wrote themselves. DIY touches, natural wood accents, and a crowd that burned up the dance floor, kept the reception elegant, romantic, and fun! Amelia’s Rivini dress was just gorgeous as well…it was dramatic without being over powering, highlighting Amelia’s natural beauty. Congratulations to this lovely couple!

The ceremony
My husband and I got married in the church where I have been working the past couple years and chose it because it was close to my parents’ home and I loved the simplicity and layout of the sanctuary. My father is an ordained pastor and he married Micah and I, which was incredible. Most of our attendants were family, which added an extra special dimension to our wedding day. I wanted to say more then just the simple vows that are usually exchanged at wedding, so both Micah and I shared our commitment to our vows by going into further details about what we both really mean when we say “I love you” and what that looks like in every-day living after the wedding day. I had a little trouble getting through mine without breaking down, but Micah was awesome.
The location for our wedding receptions was held on the beautiful Sweet Briar College women’s campus. The Elston Inn and Conference Center had a beautiful brick patio with rod iron trellises holding up the balcony overlooking the patio. With lanterns, tea lights everywhere, ferns, and other floral and natural looking arrangements around the receptions, the setting was magically transformed into an inviting reception area. My family loves to dance, so we had quite a variety of music to suit their varied interests, from ballroom, to salsa, to some modern dances. The dance floor was kept busy! During the reception, everyone in the bridal party had a chance to speak about how they knew the bride or groom and a short story including an experience related to either one of us. Those short speeches were really special for both Micah and I. After additional toasts and speeches, intermixed with dancing, Micah and I left the reception with a sparkler departure, which was the perfect ending to such an enchanting evening.
How Amelia found her dream wedding dress
Before I starting searching for a wedding dress I had compiled an album of pictures of wedding dresses I really liked. As I started the search for wedding dresses in person what I thought I wanted and what I really wanted ended up being two different things. The funny thing about shopping for my wedding dress was that I had originally gone dress shopping with my best friend to find her wedding dress, which was coming up months before mine. We both tried on multiple dresses and when I tried on Rivini’s Turquoise dress, I knew my search was over.

Beautiful, secure, classy
Why she decided to sell her wedding dress
My new husband and I live in small apartment, which means limited amount of space for storage. I would love to find someone who ends up loving my dress and enjoys wearing it as much as I did on my wedding day. It truly is an amazing dress and I can’t imagine not passing it on to another beautiful bride to wear for her special day.
