Real Wedding | Allison + Gideon

They say that “location is everything,” and Allison and Gideon must agree, because the historic landmark estate they chose for their wedding was a simply amazing place to say “I do!” The Tudor-style mansion and immaculate grounds gave their wedding a “Great Gatsby” feel, and Allison’s classic style was a perfect match for the elegant surroundings. The reception celebration was held at an equally beautiful site – a classic hall filled with guilded decor and ornate metalwork. A modern celebration with classic style…what a perfect way to tie the knot!

The ceremony

The ceremony was held at the historic Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens which was the home of the founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. The ceremony was outside at this historic landmark on a beautiful and sunny day!  We had a refreshment table for the guests to cool them down before the ceremony.  The aisle was the most stunning part of the wedding because it was so long and illuminated.

The reception

The reception was held at The Arcade in downtown Cleveland, OH.  This was one of the first indoor malls in the country and has a beautiful turn of the century feel with its ornate metalwork and gilded decor.  Before dinner we had a cocktail hour in a raised rotunda, where people mingled to jazz piano around the cake.  Our reception was driven by a wonderful soulful jazz and oldies band, which really brought out everyone’s fun side in the formal setting.  After the hilarious and sentimental toasts, dinner, and dancing, an impromptu improv show began!  Allison was in a comedy improv group in college and with all of her fellow members attending, we threw a quick show before the afterparty!

Classy and dainty, yet powerful!

Why Allison decided to sell her wedding dress

The fabric on the dress is so beautiful and glowing that I couldn’t imagine letting it sit in a closet for the rest of my life.  I love the dress so much, and if I could wear it even every year I would keep it in a heartbeat because I love it so much.  But since that won’t likely happen, I would love to share this stunning dress with someone else (it makes your waist look so beautiful!).
