Sharon and Harrison chose the University of Virginia, their alma mater, for their summer engagement session with Laura Yang Photography. I absolutely love their story, as told by Laura!
Like many a happy couple, Sharon + Harrison couldn’t actually envision the other as their one and only when they first met at work. Sharon thought Harrison was too shy to be much fun. Harrison thought Sharon was on a mission to drive him crazy. But he still invited her to a party last summer to celebrate the purchase of his first house just outside of Richmond… and that was when their relationship started to change. And it was a big change.
Deciding Sharon was pretty cool, after all, Harrison asked her to lunch; they wound up in Home Depot, though, where Sharon excitedly ran up and down the paint aisle, helping Harrison choose colors and painting tools for his new home. Harrison was equally enthusiastic. Even though he had absolutely no intention of actually painting his house. He just wanted to hold her attention long enough to catch her interest. It worked. Only a couple months later, as they sat homebound in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, they decided to do some ring shopping online. By Christmas, Harrison had Sharon’s dream ring in hand — or on Christmas tree bough, if you want to get really specific. He proposed as they decorated a Christmas tree together, she said yes, and now they’re only two months away from their sure-to-be-amazing wedding at the picturesque Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville. – Laura
