We simply adore to see creative teams pull together shoots centered around nature and the venues within which they’re working, and this team created something truly stunning by brining in very few rentals from outside and mostly working with things they found on the grounds. The inspiration for this shoot centered around “found” elements. Greer just has an eye for everything. She unearthed this overgrown, abandoned gymnasium on the outskirts of New Orleans that was just an absolute gem. People drive by it every day and have no idea what’s hiding in the overgrowth.
Kelly from Intertwine foraged the bulk of her greens and styled them up in a wild, earthy fashion, using a vintage dough bowl as the grounding centerpiece. We pulled the dress off the rack at Free People, and then we intentionally went light on the décor. The best materials for a space always end up being those you find right where you’re working. If you let the terrain dictate the design—rather than trying to force a vision on it—you just get this really naturally gorgeous result. To us, this felt a little bit like a secret garden. A stolen space in the thick of New Orleans jazz and beads.
